Friday 12th June

From Julia's garden

THE BIGGEST MORNING TEA

and a very happy one it was too, no more floods to delay the activity. Plenty of yummy cakes, show and tell and prizes (a few extra ones thanks to the "Monday" girls). Congratulations to the winners and to all the members for contributing for breast cancer.

Lorraine's pretty girls.

The quilts on display were varied and wonderful but I think Laurel's Crazy quilt made of men's ties and heavily embroidered and embellished was the star of the show. Many of the quilts were being donated to a very good local cause - it was suggested that children's bags would be welcome too.

Laurel's crazy quilt.

I should have taken more photos but once morning tea was served all my good intentions were forgotten.

Definitely NOT for sale.

Kaye's version of Applecore -not quite but it still looks good.

Friday 12th June

THE BIG MORNING TEA

Well it was a delicious morning tea with prizes galore and some lovely extras thanks to the "Monday" girls, congratulations to the winners. Many ladies wore pink clothing.

The "Show and Tell" display produced some great quilts and quite a few were added to my "must do" lists. Many were being donated to a very good local cause. Laurel spoke about her Crazy Patchwork quilt made from men's ties there was so much work put into the stitching and embellishing and this was her 3rd. I should have taken quite a few more photos but I was too distracted once morning tea was served.

Catching up

It has been a while since I have blogged, not from lack of interest or inspiration but because of two senior moments. One was because I couldn't remember the blog name and two because I couldn't remember how to transfer photos from my camera to a file.

It also seems ages since we have all met at Condong as the last meeting was cancelled due to the flooding around Murwillumbah. Hopefully all will be well for the coming meeting when we will be having our "biggest morning tea.

From all reports the Fibre show at Brisbane was a success - it was interesting to hear about all the new gadgets and products that are available now and the growing number of shops on-line too.
